UFC 138 PREDICTION CONTEST

It's that time again.

The first ever KneeBar Reactions prediction contest was a raging success, so just as I promised, I'll be hosting a new contest for as many major MMA events as possible from here on out with the exception of the UFC on Fox.  I won't be hosting a contest for the particular event for various reasons, but mostly, its because I want to be able to enjoy the show like a true fan without having to worry about my blogging duties.

Just as I said last time, I will be keeping everyone's scores from week to week so please make sure that you always use the same name when making your predictions.  I've made this one a bit more user friendly than that last one, so no more writing out your picks in the comments section like it's 2005.  I'm pandering to the lazies out there and making this as easy as possible.  Just check off boxes and hit send.  Can it get much easier than that?

I still haven't heard from last weeks winner, Studdy.  So if you're reading this, your t-shirt awaits!  Please send me over all your contact info and I'll get it out to you.

Just so that never happens again, I'm making it a requirement for everyone who enters to leave their contact information.

I bet you're all wondering what this weeks prize is.  Well, in an effort to promote literacy and the gospel of MMA, I've decided that this week's prize will be the newly minted and released........ wait for it........

It's all yours if you win!

Let's go over the rules just one more time:

The Rules:

Here's how it goes.  First and foremost, only one entry per person.  Please do not make multiple submissions.  That will result in an immediate disqualification.  Other than that, it's pretty simple.

Just fill out all the sections of the form below and hit submit.  It's that simple.  Just make sure you submit your picks correctly and include your name and contact information.

Every pick must contain the following:

1.  Fighter you are picking to win
2.  Which Round he wins it in.
3.  How he will win the fight.

Example of a pick: "Name of Fighter", KO, RD 2.

The scoring will be done as follows.

Pick the correct fighter = 1 point
Pick the correct Round = 1 point
Pick the correct finish  = 1 point
Get all three correct    = 1 point bonus

Draws will result in 0 points and will count as a push for everyone.

That means you can potentially score 4 points per fight.  Who ever has the most points at the end of the event will be the winner!  It's that simple!

**In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by who has the most 4 point picks (picking fighter, round, and method of win correctly for one fight) at the end of the night.  If that still does not produce a winner, or if no one has any 4 point picks, ties will then be decided by who picked the most correct method of wins (i.e. submission, KO, Dec).  It will then carry on to most correct Rounds, and most correct fighters until a winner can be decided.

In the off chance that still does not produce a winner, ties will then be decided through a tie breaker trivia question that I post on twitter.  First one to answer wins.

(The tie breaker question will be a random trivia question about one of the main event competitors)

Winners will be announced on the Sunday following the event.  A list of everyone who participated and their point totals will also be posted.  The list of cumulative point totals will also be included.

I'll be keeping everyone's cumulative point totals from event to event so be sure to use the same name every time you enter a contest.  Whoever has the most points at the end of the year will win a Grand Prize that has yet to be named (I promise it'll be something worth having).

I'll let everyone know when the list is up via twitter, so follow me @TheGuardFighter.

Well that's pretty much it.  I hope everyone is enjoying making their picks.  We had a great turn out last time so lets push it hard this time around and get a real good competition going.  Good luck everyone!

UFC 138 will air on Spike TV on 11/5/2011 at 8:00 pm.  The fights will be shown on tape delay as it will take place in Birmingham, England earlier in the day.
