UFC 139 PREDICTIONS CONTEST

The break is over!

The UFC on Fox has come and gone so lets get back to the nitty gritty.  It was nice to just enjoy being a fan again for a week and not have to concentrate on blogging so much.  But since we do this for the love of the sport, its time to get back to it and bring you what you want.  The last two prediction contests have been a raging success....so....as promised, I'll be continuing to hold contests for every major event up until the end of the year.  The race for the best overall score is a close one, so keep on making your picks because the grand prize will be announced the week before UFC 141.

Just in case you're not following, I will be keeping everyone's scores from week to week so please make sure that you always use the same name when making your predictions.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the contest form format, so I'll be sticking to that for the remainder of the year until I can come up with something better.

Our winner of the UFC 138 contest, Will Vogenitz, will be receiving his free copy of the UFC Encyclopedia any day now.  Don't worry buddy, it's in the mail!

So I bet you're wondering what this week's prize will be.  Well, when I was contemplating what would make the most sense to give away for this contest, I kept circling back to one thing.  The great thing about this card is that its kind of a throwback.  3 of the 4 fighters in the main and co-main event are former Pride FC champions and superstars.  So, in keeping with that theme, I've decided that the winner of this contest will win, no more and no less, then the Pride FC: Fighting Legacy - Volume 7 DVD.

So lets go over the rules one more time:

THE RULES

Here's how it goes.  First and foremost, only one entry per person.  Please do not make multiple submissions.  That will result in an immediate disqualification.  Other than that, it's pretty simple.

Just fill out all the sections of the form below and hit submit.  It's that simple.  Just make sure you submit your picks correctly and include your name and contact information.

Every pick must contain the following:

1.  Fighter you are picking to win
2.  Which Round he wins it in.
3.  How he will win the fight.

Example of a pick: "Name of Fighter", KO, RD 2.

The scoring will be done as follows.

Pick the correct fighter = 1 point
Pick the correct Round = 1 point
Pick the correct finish  = 1 point
Get all three correct    = 1 point bonus

Draws will result in 0 points and will count as a push for everyone.

That means you can potentially score 4 points per fight.  Who ever has the most points at the end of the event will be the winner!  It's that simple!

**In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined by who has the most 4 point picks (picking fighter, round, and method of win correctly for one fight) at the end of the night.  If that still does not produce a winner, or if no one has any 4 point picks, ties will then be decided by who picked the most correct method of wins (i.e. submission, KO, Dec).  It will then carry on to most correct Rounds, and most correct fighters until a winner can be decided.

In the off chance that still does not produce a winner, ties will then be decided through a tie breaker trivia question that I post on twitter.  First one to answer wins.

(The tie breaker question will be a random trivia question about one of the main event competitors)

Winners will be announced on the Sunday following the event.  A list of everyone who participated and their point totals will also be posted.  The list of cumulative point totals will also be included.

I'll be keeping everyone's cumulative point totals from event to event so be sure to use the same name every time you enter a contest.  Whoever has the most points at the end of the year will win a Grand Prize that has yet to be named (I promise it'll be something worth having).

I'll let everyone know when the list is up via twitter, so follow me @TheGuardFighter.

Well that's it everyone.  Be sure to make your picks as soon as possible and spread the word that the contest is on.

For anyone who's participated in any of the prior contests, your cumulative scores can be found in the section above titled CONTEST SCORES, so keep coming back and making your picks.  The grand prize will be well worth the 3 minutes out of your day.

Don't forget to follow @TheGuardFighter and LIKE KneeBar Reactions on Facebook for contest updates and other great MMA related content.

Thanks again for participating everyone!

GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY THE FIGHTS!!
